a place i remember
Recreating a landscape through memories, following in the footsteps of Turner and other romantic artists, working both from memory and through sketches created out in the landscape. My paintings consist of gestural brushstrokes and rough mark making, using acrylic, oil pastel and charcoal. I love dripping, flicking and layering paint, combining traditional art methods with digital photography. You can see clear links to the sublime as my expressive works explore the beauty and power of the natural world.
