A short film exploring grief and nostalgia, written & directed by Cameron Graves & produced by Rosie Bruce.
Noah and Isaac were born nine years apart and have found themselves distanced from one another at a difficult point in both their lives when their grandmother leaves behind a task for them in her will. They must scatter her ashes across North Wales. The journey through the Llyn peninsula forces them to confront their memories both good and bad, whilst giving them an opportunity to rekindle their own distant relationship.
The film began as a short piece of experimental prose in which I tried to explore the emotions I felt on returning to the Llyn Peninsula where I spent much of my childhood. The prose then led to the creation of two characters representing differing sides of my emotion, and then on to a more complex prose piece in which the two characters embarked on this journey with each other. Then it became script and then my first ever narrative short film. That explanation however does not do justice the amount of effort and work that has gone into the creation of this film from everyone involved - from crew and collaborators to friends, family and tutors. Thank you to all.
The film is my favourite piece of work to date, I learned so much about my own processes and developed so many new ideas both of which I will take forward into new projects.
