Digital Extractivism
To answer the question "How does historical colonialism and modern exploitation affect future technological sovereignty and digital independence?", Digital Extractivism showcases the impact previous exploitations have had on a growing age of technology and the digital world. I aim to depict this through the continent of Africa and how they have been affected by colonialism throughout history, alongside future implications directly caused by Western Elites. This piece aims to be a historical lesson in light of awareness to those who may not understand this topic.
As a designer, I strive to be as flexible as possible, constantly wanting to learn and add to my skillset. To narrow it down, my design philosophy focuses on creating seamless user experiences that feels natural, intuitive and alive. By attaching narratives and storylines to experiences, it breathes life into it which transforms routine interactions into memorable journeys, making users feel connected, understood and engaged at every stage.
