Where'd all the fun go?
Hi I'm Abigail! I am an illustrator based in Greater Manchester, creating bold, colourful work inspired by girlhood, connection and nostalgia. My practice explores the stories, feelings and everyday moments that connect us, with a particular interest in editorial illustration and visual storytelling.
This body of work explores the idea of being selfish with my time, attention and creativity, and the importance of reconnecting with myself by creating boundaries. In a world increasingly shaped by social media, I look back to the 1990s and early 2000s, drawing on the nostalgia of a time when connection, entertainment and creativity existed away from the screen. Through playful imagery and screen printing, I explore how stepping back from digital culture can create space to slow down, reconnect and simply make.
I would love to work towards securing an illustration agent and developing my career as an editorial illustrator, whilst continuing to develop my screen-printing studio and sell my work at markets. Some dream clients of mine wuold be Lucy & Yak and Breathe Magazine.
